LA has been a leading and innovative provider of surface water technical services since 1986 and has completed riverine projects in over 21 states, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia. As part of all surface water projects, we develop and present an understanding of the natural behavior of surface water systems and incorporate that understanding into the engineering and scientific solution to the client’s project. We are committed to providing unique and cost effective solutions from project conception through construction. Our surface water studies include an initial phase of fluvial geomorphic investigation followed by a second phase of hydraulic modeling and design engineering. Often these projects lead to preparation of final plans, specifications, permitting, construction and monitoring.
LA has completed hydrology, hydraulic, sediment transport and geomorphic studies on river systems as diverse as the Apalachicola River, Provo River, Willamette River, to numerous ephemeral and intermittent drainages in the arid west. Our work has included investigation of water rights, hydraulic design, flood studies (FEMA and County Land Use) and river restoration projects. LA has been responsible for several of the more prominent river restoration projects in the US including the Little Medicine Bow River, the Yampa River, and the Rogue River. We have completed river dredging studies and permitting efforts on the Umpqua and Animas Rivers, and watershed/reservoir sedimentation studies in Indiana, Oregon, Colorado, and Indonesia. Our surface water studies are designed to protect the natural resources, health and integrity of the watershed and stream. We will work diligently to bring all project objectives into the project. Our team of engineers, hydrologists, geologists and water resources specialists will integrate their individual specialties to meet the needs of the client and environment.
