Our diverse group of geologists, engineers and water resources specialists allow LA to design and manage large and complex mine permitting, operational, and reclamation projects. We have completed projects throughout the western United States and overseas. Our staff provides considerable experience in the permitting and reclamation of hard rock and placer gold operations, open pit coal, bentonite and rock quarries, sand and gravel pits, and conventional uranium mines. LA specializes in ground water applications and the permitting requirements for In-Situ Recovery (ISR) and non-conventional methods of mining. We also provide specialty expertise in geology, reserve evaluation, geomorphology, resolution of ground water and surface water issues, and civil engineering as they pertain to mining. For the oil and gas and energy development industry, LA provides environmental studies including monitoring of ground water wells, springs and surface water resources.
All mining projects require the acquisition of permits from local, state and often federal agencies. We are very familiar with the permitting procedures required in the Rocky Mountain Region and the Pacific Northwest, and have successfully completed land use and mine permitting projects in most states west of the Mississippi River. Our projects typically involve environmental monitoring, reclamation planning and design, application of Best Management Practices, preparation of contract documents, and construction administration. We assist our clients with all aspects of the permitting process including field data collection, document preparation, permit negotiation, and expert testimony.
